Fried chicken

This is not the typical fried chicken like at KFC. This is BETTER! Because... it is my mom's recipe.

Chicken:
Flour chicken in zip lock
Fry in oil and butter (1/2 inch) must be hot when added and screen with lid
Sprinkle top with salt and lemon pepper
Turn over when crispy and sprinkle other side
Done when brown on both sides
Take out and put in a baking dish, cover and bake at 350(maybe 375 for 20min) for 30 min until tender

Gravy:
Drain off oil, not the drippings
Put milk in pan and heat to get off drippings
Add milk and heat till warm and taste (add salt)
Bring to almost a boil, DON’T curdle
Add thickening (milk and flour) through strainer and stir while adding
*don’t add too much
Turn down on low and simmer until thickness desired

  1. Haha. Yes, but the reason I put up all the chicken in a row is because I have all the recipes on one document. I just did them all at once so I don't leave any out. I have most of mom's recipes already typed up so I can put those on the blog but feel free to add any others! Now we can all share our delicious recipes with each other! Only post the good ones. Oh and feel free to add pictures!

  2. I'm going to post all the bad recipes I have and not tell you they are gross. Maybe I will post my special waffle recipe that you switch the salt and sugar quantities???

For the fried chicken I use tenders. I usually don't cook with breasts because I have issues eating another's breasts...jk. Tenders are more tender and I great with fried chicken. Very moist and more crispy! We just ate this last night.

haha! you are funny! I usually use tenders too. I completely agree with your reasoning! you should have taken a picture of it to put on the blog. I've been taking pictures of everything i make but haven't gotten around to posting them.
